Firefly finally woke up after a sucker punch from her alternate universe counterpart Dragonfly. She found herself hanging in a very open room, surrounded by steel walls, or what seemed like steel walls with what little light she had. Her arms were above her head, shackles covering her hands to hold her in place. Leg shackles on the ground kept her from trying to swing around too much. At least she still had her uniform on, but without her gauntlets or boots she couldn't properly fight her way out. Off in the distance, she could hear some footsteps approaching.

The lights started to brighten, revealing her counterpart Dragonfly now outside of her supervillain guise. She is wearing a brown coat over a black dress shirt and baggy camo pants with black boots. Her hair also

"Wondered if you were going to wake up sooner or later," Dragonfly said in a confident smirk on her face. Firefly had a far more serious look on her face than anyone thought possible.

"I can't escape anyway," she said.

"Right, I knew you would be a smart one," Dragonfly said. "The shackles keep you from slipping away. You get any smaller than you are now and they zap you enough back to regular size."

"And the dyed hair?" Firefly asked.

"Just in case you did escape," Dragonfly said, "I gave them a warning ahead of time to look for the 'me' with the blue hair."

"You really thought of everything, huh?"

"I'm you, so you know it," Dragonfly said, again sporting a confident smile across her face.   "It is easy to fake being the goofball of the group, isn't it? Having people look to you for a quick punchline? Does anybody realize how smart you actually are?"

"My friends do," Firefly said in a bold retort.

Dragonfly responded with a brief "Hah!" then continued with, "Your friends can't help you now. Many have already left this world. Others have been captured. And that 'Vigil' betrayed you all. What do you have left?" Firefly started to close her eyes while Dragonfly continued her rant. "Shutting down isn't going to help you, kid."

I've got to try this.

Dragonfly continued with, "If you're lucky, I might hire you on as a personal assistance."

Nothing to lose now...

Dragonfly started to get worried, pulling out a gun from a coat pocket and pointing it towards Firefly. "What the hell do you think you're doing?"

Firefly opened her eyes, stared straight at Dragonfly and finally spoke up.

"Concentrating." In one swift moment, Firefly was engulfed in a bright orange light, blinding Dragonfly as she tried to cover her eyes with one arm. She heard the sound of the shackles breaking off, but couldn't focus on any immediate action. Throwing caution to the wind, she tries to concentrate as she prepared to fire at where Firefly's head should be. She fired off all of her ammo in one pull of the trigger. As the light subsided, Dragonfly started to pull her arm down.

At first, she saw the shackles broken in front of her. How did she break free? Dragonfly thought. Before she could think of an answer, she heard a loud THUD behind her. Turning around, Dragonfly looked up to see quite the sight: a 25-foot tall Firefly looking down on her.

"No!" Dragonfly shouted, "You can't grow big!"

"Why not?" Firefly responded in a booming voice, "I can grow from being a shrimp, so why can't I get bigger?" Before Dragonfly could respond or even reload, Firefly slammed her hand straight on top of her counterpart with a massive SLAM. The force shook building's foundation as Firefly left her large handprint into the ground. Underneath, Dragonfly is still alive, but rendered unconscious from the blow. Shrinking back down normal size, Firefly looked over Dragonfly from a distance to see her knocked out.

"Guess you don't know me that much," Firefly said to her knock-out counterpart. She started running out of the massive room and into a hallway, running through the building until coming across what looked like a control room. A bit of looking around and Firefly found Dragonfly's super suit. "Not very smart on her part." She couldn't find anything else to help her pass off as Dragonfly, not even a bottle of blue hair dye. At the very least, she found some important data regarding Deathwatch. "Time to make a stop before meeting with the bad guys." She started to put on the Dragonfly suit, which was slightly bigger than she expected. Thank god for adjustable measurements. The suit controls were a breeze for Firefly to learn, since they mirrored the design to her own gauntlets and boots. "Now, where is the nearest wig shop?"
My second half to :iconbranded-curse:'s Otherworld story. Hero vs Villain, round two!

Firefly has been strung up and captured by her counterpart Dragonfly. How will our hero get back against the villainous version of herself? Like any good hero, she may play a card she never knew she had, but I do!

Firefly and Dragonfly belong to me
